Aim

Provide a series of supporting services for elders, which enable them to enjoy happy later years in their familiar communities.

Objectives

  1. To provide various social and developmental activities to encourage elders to make use of their spare time, take part in social affairs and develop their potentials for a happy sunset life.
  2. Assist elders and the community to know and utilize social resources.
  3. To encourage the residents to build an elderly-caring community with the spirit of ‘respecting and caring elders’.

Content

Educational and developmental services

To provide diversified education to let elders acquire new knowledge, follow the trend and put the spirit of keeping learning in whole life into fact.

Carer Support Services

To provide elder carers with referential data, rehabilitation equipment, talks, caring skills training and group activities to strengthen the knowledge and skills of elder carers in caring the elder people and establishing a supporting network.

Consulting and referral service of community resources

To provide information about community resources and appropriate referral services to elders.

Support service for hidden elders

To find hidden elders in the community and provide those in need with outreach support, care visits and greeting by phone calls to assist them in building a community network.

Counseling service

To provide emotional support and promote their and physical and psychological health. Professional social workers will deal with personal problems related to the elders’ emotion, financial condition, residence and living accommodation, etc.

Social and recreational activities

To provide diversified social and recreational activities to encourage elders to expand their social circle and establish their interpersonal network.

Health education and life promotion

To assist elders developing a positive and healthy life attitude through organizing activities about health and life education.

Development of volunteers

To encourage elders to take part in voluntary services, open up their strengths, learn the concept of the elderly-friendly community and serve the society in order to reach the aim of 'Promoting a Sense of Worthiness among the Elders'.

Participation of elders in planning and promotion

To encourage elders to participate in planning and promoting activities, developing their potentials and forming self-raising groups to highlight the spirit of ‘self-learning, self-discipline, self-development and self-teaching’.

Dietary

To provide delicious, healthy and balanced diet for elders in need.

Facilities

Health corner

To provide elders with various kinds of health inspection equipment, such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeter and electronic weight scale to let them check health conditions on their own.

Carer Support and Resource corner

To provide elders with referential data (such as books and CDs), information and rehabilitation supplies to borrow.

Multi-functional activity room

There are movable partitions and mirror wall in the room for members to conduct various activities.

Common room

There are TVs, books, newspapers and all kinds of chess for elders to rest and chat in a comfortable environment.

Counseling Room

To receive visitors and provide case counseling to elders.

Community canteen

To provide healthy and hot meal service to elders.

Eligibility for the Service
Gold card member: 60 years old or above
           
Silver card member: 50-59 years old

Please visit the Centre in person to register during opening hours and bring:

Annual fee of the member

Membership withdrawal
Please give your membership card back to the Centre if you want to retreat and conduct relevant procedure.

Saturday:
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Closed on Sundays and Public holidays.
