Introduction

Our center is the first eldercare service center of Po Leung Kuk, located in Lok Wah Estate, Kwun Tong, which began servicing on Feb 19th, 1987.

To accommodate the ever-changing social situation, our center is always expanding its services along with its area increasing from 1000 ft to 5000 ft, and branches all over the Lok Wah South Estate and Lok Wah North Estate.

We provide diversified services to elders and elder carers to make elders stay in their familiar communities and enjoy life in later years, and enable elders enjoy later life at home.

Objectives

To provide a series of supporting services to elders to stay in their familiar communities and enjoy life in later years.

  • To provide kinds of social, education and development activities, encourage elders to make best use of time and take part in social affairs, develop potential abilities and live a wonderful life in their later years.
  • To help elders and residents learn and use social resources.
  • To encourage residents to work together and establish elders-loved communities in the spirit of respecting and caring elderly people.

Contents

Education and Development

To provide diversified education services to elders to learn new knowledge, enhance self-confidence, keep pace with the times and achieve the goal of keeping learning in their later years.

Promotion of Health Education and Lifestyles

To promote elders’ recognition of common diseases and healthy life and help elders enhance their awareness of health care and establish a positive and healthy attitude to life through health education activities.

Development of Volunteer

To encourage elders to participate in volunteer services for society and promote sense of worthiness.

Consulting and Referral Service on Community Resources

To provide information of resources and give proper referrals toelders.

Care Support Services

To provide reference data, rehabilitation facilities, different teams and activities to elder carers, enhance their knowledge and skills on elderly services and build their supporting network.

Extendedand Community Network

To provide extended supporting services and help elders in need build community relationships and get appropriate support and services.

Participation in Planning and Promotion

To encourage elders to participate in planning and promotion, develop potential abilities and live wonderful life in their later years.

Tutoring Service

To provide emotional support and promote physical and mental health, professional social workers would help elders face their emotional, economic, housing and adaptation problems, etc. 

Social and Recreational Activities

To provide diversified social and recreational activities to elders to extend their social circle and build support network.

Community Dietary Service

To provide nutrition balanced, healthy and delicious meals for elders and residents in need and meanwhile a platform for them to communicate with each other.

Eligibility for the Service
Gold Card Member: 60 years old or above
Annual Fee $21
Silver Card Member: 50-59 years old
Annual Fee $50


Member Application Procedures
Please come in person during the opening hours for application and bring your:
1. ID Card
2. Two Recent Photos of Head Shot
3. Annual Fee


Withdrawal Procedures
Withdrawal shall take effect by return of Membership Card.


Opening Hours
Monday to Friday:
8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday:
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
No Service on Sundays and Public Holidays.
